Some Miraculous Manifestations
scored for string orchestra (6,5,4,3,2)
duration 10 minutes
Some Minor Miraculous Manifestations consists of a series of miniatures: small, fragile appearances, brief flashes of meaning. Not grand revelations, but modest moments in which something briefly reveals itself and then fades away. The work moves along the threshold between perception and imagination, between the everyday and the wondrous.
In In Grief, a Tear, a single tear becomes the first manifestation of gentle consolation within the rawness of mourning. From there, a surreal perspective opens up, in which something strange slowly moves along the stars. In Something Strange is Slowly Crawling Along the Stars, the familiar universe is subtly unsettled, and wonder and estrangement converge.
Time itself then finds a voice. The Voice of Time approaches time not only as a measurable phenomenon, but also as an inner experience—something pliable, non-linear, or even capable of coming to a standstill. The strange scene we encountered earlier returns in Still Crawling Slowly (… a revelation); now it is revealed that this bizarre music is the fruit of the past.
In the final movement, Apparition, scenes from the past appear, only to gradually crumble and ultimately vanish altogether. What remains is a quiet resonance: the echo of a small miraculous moment.
